What is 1339?

• 1339 collects emergency medical information to provide to the public, emergency rescuers, and medical institutions.
• 1339 provides real-time clinical information.
• 1339 is available throughout the year.
• 1339 informs available hospitals and clinics in case of an emergency, as well as for the public and foreigners.
• 1339 provides instructions on emergency treatment and disease counseling.
• 1339 provides an ambulance service when needed.

When calling 1339:

• Press 1339 with area code when calling from a mobile phone
  (no additional charge will be made aside from the telephone charges).
  

What can you do when someone got hurt or sick?

• First, check the condition of the patient.
• If it is hard to determine the patient’s condition or he/she is in emergency situation, contact 1339 immediately and consult with an agent in the Emergency Medical Information Center.
• Inform the agent of 1339 about the location, age, sex, condition, and the number of patients along with your contact number.
• If transportation is needed, the 1339 agent will send an ambulance.
• Consultation in English, Japanese, and Chinese are available.
